Niehaus Center Celebrates 20 Years of Global Research and Impact

April 3, 2025

On April 3, 2025, the Niehaus Center for Globalization and Governance marked its 20th anniversary with a day of events at Princeton University. The celebration brought together current fellows, former fellows, faculty affiliates, and university leadership to reflect on two decades of scholarship and the Center’s contributions to the study of globalization, international relations, and global governance. For the celebration, the Center welcomed Robert H. Niehaus ’77 P08 P10 P12 and Kate S. Niehaus S77 P08 P10 P12, whose dedication and unwavering commitment have made the Center’s work possible.

The program featured an informal lunch hosted by SPIA with NCGG Director Helen V. Milner, ten current fellows, and four former fellows; a roundtable discussion on the Center’s impact; and a public panel titled The Future of Globalization and Global Governance, moderated by Anne-Marie Slaughter. Panelists included Andrew Moravcsik, Layna Mosley, James Vreeland, and guests Mark Copelovitch and Susan Hyde. The day concluded with a celebratory dinner at Prospect House, where guests were presented with a commemorative 20th anniversary report. Throughout the events, participants reflected on the Center’s enduring commitment to fostering research, dialogue, and innovation on some of the most pressing political and economic challenges facing the world today.
