Princeton Research in Experimental Social Science (PRESS) will host Professor Cyrus Samii from New York University. Professor Samii will present his work titled "Can Communities Take Charge? A Randomized Controlled Trial on Sustaining Schools in Afghanistan." Prof. Samii is an Associate Professor of Politics and is the Executive Director of Evidence in Governance and Politics (EGAP). He writes and teaches quantitative social science methodology. More specifically, he is an expert in field research design and Randomized Control Trials (RCT). His focus lies in understanding how conflict and war affect governmental functions and what strategies can address these issues. Regionally, Prof. Samii has completed fieldwork in Africa, Asia, and Latin America in collaboration with the World Bank, United Nations, and other governmental and non-governmental organizations. Prof. Samii received his Ph.D. in Political Science from Columbia University.
